Wild Rice

1 c. wild rice
4 c. water
1/2 t. salt

Wash rice several times in hot water to remove all particles. Place all ingredients in a 2-quart sauce pan. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer until rice is tender (it takes a long time). Stirring occasionally. Season with salt, ground black pepper and/or a generous amount of melted butter. Makes 4 cups.
